West Brom, Leicester City and Watford interested in Middlesbrough trialist

West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City and Watford are all interested in Middlesbrough trialist Ronald Sobowale who is the cousin of Bayern Munich star David Alaba.

Sobowale, who has been in prolific form for non-League club Whyteleafe this season, is currently on trial with Championship club Middlesbrough.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the striker is attracting interest from a whole host of Premier League and Championship clubs such is his growing reputation.

He starred in the Chelsea youth ranks alongside the likes of Tammy Abraham and Dominic Solanke before being released at the age of 15.

The forward has since developed into a speedy and powerful frontman who is now looking to secure a professional contract after scoring ten goals in 11 matches for Whyteleafe who ply their trade in the Bet Victor South East League which is the eighth level on the football pyramid.

Despite being on trial at Boro, there are plenty of suitors who are monitoring his situation meaning Jonathan Woodgate will face serious competition for his signature should he impress.

During an earlier trial at Cardiff City, Sobowale scored the winning goal in a 1-0 friendly win over MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.

Despite his lack of experience at a higher level, players like Jamie Vardy and Michail Antonio who made their way through the professional ranks from non-league football have proven it can be done.

Although taking the leap from the eighth tier to the first or second tier would be a huge step forward, this could be a real opportunity for the striker.
