Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has confirmed the club will do everything to keep Manchester United's Jadon Sancho.

England international Sancho has starred back on loan to his former club having had a disastrous two-and-a-half-year spell at Old Trafford so far.

The 24-year-old has rebuilt his reputation since his Germany return in January after being frozen out by Erik ten Hag at Man United.

Ten Hag banished Sancho in late September after a dressing room spat, leading to Dortmund picking him up on loan in the winter window until the end of the season.

Having taken some time to get back up to speed after months without playing a minute, the winger has now rediscovered his form.

Sancho was widely lauded for his eye-catching performance in Dortmund's 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final last week.

His showing prompted fresh debate over whether he can still rekindle his United career - with Ten Hag even offering some rare public praise.

Dortmund, however, are not prepared to give up on Sancho without a fight, with Kehl claiming the player had 'found his smile again here'.

Speaking with German news outlet Welt, per Fabrizio Romano, BVB's sporting director said: "We will try everything to keep Jadon Sancho here.

"But Manchester United also sees how well he is playing at the moment.

"Maybe they also want to sell him for profit or bring him back.

"We will see."

Sancho has scored three goals and registered two assists in 17 appearances in all competitions since returning to Dortmund.

He was an unused substitute in Saturday's 5-1 win over Augsburg, with manager Edin Terzic likely having one eye firmly on Tuesday's second leg against PSG.

His standout showing in the first leg saw Ten Hag open the door to a potential future in Manchester - with the Red Devils yet to see the best of a youngster they shelled out £73million for in 2021.

He said: "So let's say this: yesterday he played very good and he's a very good player, yesterday he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed he represents a high value for Manchester United. Which is good.

"I'm happy for Jadon, for the performance yesterday and we'll see what is going to happen in the future."
