Cole Palmer is set to miss out on receiving a goal bonus.

The Chelsea star is tied with Manchester City hotshot Erling Haaland in the Premier League Golden Boot race following his four-goal haul during the Blues' rampant win over Everton on Monday night.

But The Sun reports that regardless of whether he claims the prize, no extra money is heading his way as Palmer didn't negotiate a bonus into the deal that brought him to Stamford Bridge last summer.

The 21-year-old came through the youth academy at Manchester City before going on to make 41 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side.

Despite being highly rated by City, Palmer took the decision to leave the treble-winners as he looked to kick on and prove himself as one of the Premier League's top performers.

Given that he'd have been competing with Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku for a starting spot, few could blame him.

However, Palmer's time at Chelsea has surpassed all expectation.

Joining for just £42million, the forward has scored an incredible 23 goals in all competitions, including 20 in the Premier League.

That tally has put him level with Manchester City striker Haaland, meaning he must surely be considered one of world football's most lethal attackers.

Unfortunately for him, he won't receive any form of bonus based on the goals that he scores for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Given the sheer amount of strikes that he's made this term, Palmer will be no doubt be kicking himself as a result of the exclusion.

Palmer and Chelsea are next in action on Saturday when the Blues face Manchester City at Wembley for a spot in the FA Cup final, live on talkSPORT.
