Sources: Update on David Moyes’s future at West Ham, what club hierarchy have told David Sullivan

David Moyes’s future as West Ham United manager remains undecided, HITC understands.

The Hammers have endured a frustrating campaign, despite a summer of heavy investment which saw Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos brought in for more than £100million.

The club do look set to improve on last season’s finishing of 14th in the Premier League, but the chance of a European repeat looks unlikely.

West Ham won the Europa Conference League and have made the last-eight of this season’s Europa League – but they face a an uphill task to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first-leg.

A European exit will see the pressure increase further on Moyes – whose current deal expires in the summer.

Moyes himself has stated he is not sure what the future holds, but recent displays have resulted in fan discontent.

“There will always be times at football clubs where you think you might need a change,” he told the Evening Standard earlier this year.

“At the moment West Ham have probably been in one of the best places they have been for a long time. I don’t want to keep saying it because it sounds like I’m having to defend it but the facts are there.

”There is a level where West Ham can go and we need to find out where that is. But a manager’s job is to raise expectations – and I think that’s what we’ve done.”

David Sullivan yet to make decision as hierarchy want change

Sources have confirmed to HITC that Sullivan is yet to make a decision on Moyes and whether to extend his contract beyond this season.

HITC understands that a number of the club’s hierarchy have made it known to Sullivan that they believe it is time to move on with a fresh approach, and numerous names have been put to the Hammers chief.

HITC has previously revealed that sporting director Tim Steidten would love to bring his friend Thomas Tuchel to the London Stadium, and although audacious to say the least – some within the club believe it is possible.

Tuchel loved his time in London whilst at Chelsea and he will be available this summer with Bayern Munich already confirming his departure.

However, there are others on their radar one of which is Wolves boss Gary O’Neil – as HITC revealed last month. We also understand Lille’s Paulo Fonseca, Feyenoord’s Arne Slot and Fulham’s Marco Silva also having admirers at the London Stadium and would be considered options – should Moyes depart.
