Pundit backs manager sacked by 3 Premier League clubs to replace Eddie Howe at Newcastle United

It seems as though the majority of the Newcastle United fans are still backing Eddie Howe despite the club’s indifferent season.

This time last year, the Magpies were on their way to the Champions League after punching well above their expectations.

But from Sandro Tonali’s ban to constant injury issues, it’s looking likely that Newcastle will finish outside of the European places altogether.

Those who are paying their hard-earned ticket will and are continuing to back Howe.

HITC has already revealed that there is pressure on Howe from the powers that be at St James’ Park, if things don’t improve in these coming months.

If the PIF decide that it’s time to bring a new man in, then Adebayo Akinfenwa has backed Jose Mourinho to be that guy, as he told talkSPORT.

The former striker thinks the world-renowned coach would ‘suit’ Newcastle better than jobs such as Liverpool or England.

Back in January, he was sacked by Roma, so he is now a free agent and he is keen to get back into the thick of things straight away.

And what better way than to follow a road that his great mentor – Sir Bobby Robson – once used, you feel like it would be fitting.

“I think that’s a better fit (than England),” said Akinfenwa.

“When they are talking about Eddie Howe, and unless he chooses to go to England, I think it’s unfair. I think what he has done at Newcastle has been second to none. I know it has been tricky and that’s what expectations come with.

“But I think Mourinho would suit Newcastle better.”

Eddie Howe deserves more of a chance

Yes, this is a ruthless business and, so far, the fans can’t argue against what PIF have done for the club.

From looking and feeling lifeless under Mike Ashley, they have now brought real belief that the team can go on to win trophies.

So, if they decide to move Howe on, then their judgment call would have to be backed and respected.

But given the number of injuries Newcastle have suffered, then Howe deserves another hit next season because he has proven that he is worthy of taking the club to the next level.
